Forest School is defined as:
“an inspirational process that offers children...regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self esteem through hands on learning in a woodland environment”
Our Forest School sessions take place weekly at the nearby Chetwynd Deer Park which is owned by the Newport and District Agricultural Society.
The afternoon sessions are led by Michelle or Nicola who are both Level 3 qualified Forest School leaders and all children in their final year before starting school are invited to join us at Forest School for one visit a week.
The children walk through the Deer Park Estate to the Park and spend the afternoon enjoying the woodland area, taking part in a variety of activities sometimes involving tool use and cooking over a fire, but always having a drink and biscuit before returning back to Tiggy's.
